Do I since some distain for ATI among the fites crew?

I like ATI's stuff more than nVidia, but nVidia seems to be the king of price/proformance with low to midrange cards.

Well, i finally settled on the XFX 7600 GT
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150140

All the reviews show it to be the current price/performance champ and unlike the eVGA card, there were no posts on newegg complaining about DOA cards.  So it is here now.  Newegg shipped fast as always.

"I still have a 3DFX Voodoo5 5500 AGP (Original SLi powah)runing in one of my boxes."

My 3dfx voodoo 3 2000 is here somewhere.  Still works.  Going to that from a crappy trident card was like night and day difference... nothing like the kinds of performance increases we see anymore.  We all get excited over 10-20% increase in fps in various games.

I see that people are finally starting to talk about the next versions of ATI's and Nvidia's cards that will feature DX10 among a whole host of other nifty additions.  Can't wait to see that extra 5fps in oblivion over the previous gen.  ;)

I replaced my abused x700pro with 2 XFX 7600GT XXX edition cards in SLi, they are pretty decent for the price.  I havent been able to get the beta drivers working right, but otherwise they are rock solid.
