Skylake can bend like an iphone 6
« on: December 03, 2015, 06:21:29 PM »
"It appears that some Intel Skylake CPUs have now become a part of the new "Bendgate" and can get damaged by pressure from some air coolers, possibly due to a thinner substrate compared to previous generation CPUs."

It's always surprised me this hasn't been a major issue before.  Sure, you can find examples of it happening before, but it's been very limited.  That little plastic clip on the socket and the cpu itself takes a lot with the weight of 2-3lbs of copper, liquid filled pipes, and fans hanging off it.
