Since I'm still living in an HD challenged household (aka, old POS TV), I would be ok if I had a receiver with HDMI connections on it, correct? Then the audio and video can both travel over HDMI to the receiver, the receiver passes the video along to the TV and the audio out to the speakers. Am I correct?

I thought the idea of having one cable for everything was supposed to make it simpler? Sheesh...
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

Yes, as long as it's HDMI 1.2 compatible.
