I was really surprised by this move. Especially when they later announced that the community could host them. Which means mods mods mods!
You gotta hand it to DICE though. They are going head to head with CoD which is no easy task.
They obviously get kick backs from their servers hosts for the servers they every month. Its the only logical explanation behind having dedi's and NOT letting us host them.
Its fine for now and its a step in the right direction. At the end of the day it comes down to $$ which CoD has based off its name alone. If it takes another BF game for them to generate some more money I'll support them. I find it hard to believe that if CoD is going this direction then the NEXT Battlefield wont. I imagine contracts and agreements are already worked out for BF3. BC3 or BF4 im crossing my fingers I'll be able to host my own server.
