Some people on Digg were asking that question too and I honestly have no idea, but it's a very valid question. I've only been able to successfully upload one file so far (tried about 6 or 7 files). Everytime I tried to upload a large file (like a Linux ISO), it always timed out before it finished. I think the one file I was able to upload was on old version of AVG Free I had sitting around at a whopping 32MB. I guess only time will tell if this service will hold up. I am currently not holding my breath; remember the old addage that if something seems to good to be true....
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

*shrug* I have been able to successfully upload everything I put up there. I uploaded a zipfile full of music that weighed in at ~3gb last night. I deleted it shortly after for legal reasons, but yeah it uploaded fine for me. It even capped out my upload speed, which was quite nice.

'Legal Reasons'?  I thought they can't inspect the files you upload.
That's Mr. Deception to you.

Why don't the two of you that actually have accounts try to upload files with the same name, then post the links you are told to use when you do it.. then we can see what happens... ie. if we'll go to one of yours or the most recent or the first or whatever.

http://www.filedropper.com/fitestest

THis is just a text file (fitestest.txt) that contains the following:

Code: [Select]
This is a text file made and uploaded by sully.

Who's going to duplicate this so we can settle it once and for all?

Nevermind, I think I found the answer. I made a small change to the file and uploaded it again and the download link I got was http://www.filedropper.com/fitestest_1

I suppose the numbering at the end will continue to increment the more copies of the same filename are uploaded, though I'd still like to see someone else upload to see if the numbering persists across users. Also, the link changed, but the filename did not. When I downloaded the second one, it still presented itself as fitestest.txt.

You can't complain about the 7 day trial. They give you 50gb for free for 7 days.

Yup, I can confirm the link _# incrementing being cross-user. I uploaded a fitestest.txt and it came out to:

http://www.filedropper.com/fitestest_2

Now, if you ever want to find a random file, you can just start at the word and increment upwards a bit... or upload something titled that yourself and scan downward with hopes of finding cool stuff.

SOunds like somethign to do when you're bored ;)

sounds like a good idea... like when MS releases a new OS or SP, it's usually trivial to find out what the filename and MD5 hash is, so do your trick and see if someone has uploaded it up to filiedropper
