FileDropper is a new service, similar to sites like RapidShare or MegaUpload, that offers a convenient way to share large files with your friends and family. They are billing it as the simplest file sharing website ever. Member files are never deleted, it has incredibly fast upload and download speed, and there are no count down timers, unlike many other file sharing sites out there.
So what's the big deal, you say? From now until May 15th, they are offering
free premium accounts to any "Digger, blogger, Redditter, StumbleUpon user, Del.icio.us user" etc. I signed up for my account as I am a
Digg user, but it never had me verify in any way that I am one of the above mentioned users. After signing into my account for the first time it shows that I am paid up until January 18th, 2038. Whoohoo!
The site is a little laggy right now, as I'm sure it is suffering a heavy load from the influx of all the Digg users after the news hit their front page, but it appears to be very promising. I will post a follow up once the traffic spike has died down and I can give the service a more thorough trial. Go ahead and give it a try yourself. It is free, after all.
