WTB: Video Card, Details in post
« on: February 03, 2012, 01:54:23 PM »
I'm looking to upgrade my video card, but I know I can't afford a new one off the shelf. I'm looking to see if anyone wants to get rid of a card on this list:

GeForce GTX 285 (Windows)
GeForce GTX 470 (Windows)
GeForce GTX 570 (Windows)
GeForce GTX 580 (Windows)

I'm looking for these specific cards because they can be used for GPU acceleration in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. I know for sure I can't afford a quaddro (which is also on this list), but I might be able to find a way to buy one of these other cards used.

I'm reaching out to the FITES crowd first before checking things like Ebay. Also, I have a 8800 GTX I'm willing to trade or throw in with some cash.
Eventually something cool will go in here. It's a matter of time.

I actually have a TI 560 I'm looking to get rid of.  Probably supported by Adobe, I program in CUDA for my job, so I don't see why it wouldn't work just as well as the smattering of cards they list on the Adobe website.  They probably listed all the GPU's with compute capability 2.0 and not 2.1 or higher (see also http://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus), so the 560 Ti should work for you.

I'll be at the LAN party this month, and I can bring it then if you want, or we can talk about shipping if you want it sooner.

I have a GTX 275, which I would get rid of cheap at the LAN. Not sure if this helps as its obv not on the list, but figured I would throw it out there.
