Title: Wanted: Xbox 360 stuff
Post by: Czar on August 27, 2009, 10:41:41 AM
So I had a busted (RRoD) xbox 360 donated to me. Spent some time and fixed her up, made some power mods to the fans, new thermal goo, removed the old stuff and so on.. and she works!

This is my first time using an xbox 360 and i know they've been out for a while. So does anyone have any junk they'd like to sell? I`m interested in a wired controller to make some arcade sticks out of and a headset. Perhaps some old games you think may be Le Suck.

My gamertag is IAmCzarAlex by the way.

you have a hard drive for it?

I may have a wireless controller for you.  The shell is a little....off...but I figure you can gut it and make a wireless arcade stick with it.  It does work perfectly.

I have a 13gig HD. (Odd..?) Oh well. plenty of space for me as I`ll just be downloading the occasional game.

I would like to get my hands on that controller for just that reason (arcade sticks). Name your price! Cash, jewelry for the wife (or you of course), man favors.

I've got a headset that I never use I can give you.

Speaking of Xbox parts, my controller's B button only works anymore if I press really hard, and then it sometimes wants to register two presses. It makes navigating back just one screen hard to do. Any tips for "unsticking" it?

Ever try submerging it in hot water and letting it dry? Then again controllers are more enclosed then keyboards. It probably would never dry.

Could you try taking the shell off and giving it a good cleaning with some Q-Tips and alcohol? Or..perhaps spray some of that electronic contact cleaner on the button without opening it up and just push the button about 1238 times?

ooo and I'm down for the headset. Does it plug in to the xbox itself or controller? Because I dont see a port on my controller for one. unless I R st00pid.

Look between the grips on the controller, there will be a small (2.5mm) headphone jack with 4 small holes (2 on either side).  That's where the headset plugs in.
