Triple monitor gaming on the cheap!
« on: September 18, 2011, 07:44:40 AM »
So what with the limited time I have to game these days, I find myself not using all of my hardware to it's full potential and I figured I'd try to sell a piece of it in the hopes that someone could get some value out of it. I'm sure there's someone out there like me that wants to get into multi-monitor gaming but can't/won't afford to go high-end sli/crossfire just yet and that person is who I'm trying to help out.

I want to sell my Matrox Triplehead2Go Digital Edition. I'm not looking for much money, definitely not the full asking price, but I would like to get a little something-something out of it. The newegg link is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815106011.

Don't pay attention to the negative reviews, as this unit is a decent piece of work. It effectively is a LARGE monitor. It's one thing to play BC2 at 1920x1080 on a single monitor, but it's another thing to play at 5040x1050 and see that much more landscape. With the latest firmware update it can support a resolution of up to 5760x1080 at 50Hz. The only absolute thing you need to do is make sure you monitor(s) can support what it requires to run. I ran this for several years and love it, but the fact is that I really don't have the time to devote to ultra-widescreen gaming that I'd like and I don't want this to be sitting around, doing nothing.

Stock price is $300 and I'm asking $150, so half off. You WILL need to get yourself a dual-link DVI cable running from the computer to the unit, but the 3 outputs just need standard DVI cables, of which I'll include with the box. Oh, it's powered/updated by usb and I'll gladly give you that cable as well (because usb cables are so hard to find, ya know). The latest firmware has been flashed onto it and it's ready to go.

Any questions, let me know yadda yadda. Oh, and I'd rather not ship it anywhere. I'd rather hand it to the buyer directly to guarantee that nothing breaks between leaving here and getting to it's destination.
