Yeah but the drive I got is going to be for File Storage.  The larger cache won't make any difference in my application.  And I have had very good luck with WD drives.

That's a good deal on that drive.  The WD Caviar Black's have a 5 year warranty also, but you have to watch because the WD Caviar Blue's only have a 3 year warranty.

That's why I was looking at the WD Caviar Plaid. It's 300TB, 64GB of cache, spins at 100,000 RPM and has a 2 century warranty. Too bad it's like $314,159,265 and only exists in my head. *LOL*

I have had my 500 Gb drive  in my system for 3 hours now and I have 131 Gb on it so far.  By the end of it I should have about 350 Gb filled.  It feels good to have storage space in my network.  Now I want a gigabit nic in my old gamer and a gigabit switch so I could transfer all these files much quicker.

gigabit nics are dirt cheap!  i think you could get a gigabit 8 port switch for around $50 or so bucks

This is the one I'm eyeing: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817111031

But yeah, less than $50 for an 8-port: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127082

Yes i like D-links equip.  I just sold my 24 port 10/100 and that thing rocked.  I just don't ever use it anymore.
