Title: Opteron 146 Socket 939 - Great overclocker (3GHz!)
Post by: zx2slow on February 18, 2007, 07:04:32 AM
I just got a Opteron 165 that should hit 3GHz very easily.  So I'm selling my Opteron 146.  This is the Exact same core as the FX series spu's with 1MB cache, this only has the multi locked.  I got it last july, it's only 7 months old

It will do 3GHz at 1.47v, 1.55v is generally deemed the upper voltage level for these cores.  It will also do 2.8GHz at 1.42v (Stock voltage on my motherboard, true stock is 1.40).   This is the same CPU I have been bringing to the LAN's, it has been doing 3GHz under a very nice watercooler, never ever abused.

This is a cheap FX-57.  AMD is no longer turning out decent steppings in the socket 939 Opterons, if you want a fabled 3GHz opteron this is your chance.  Prime stepping Opterons are fetching top dollar still. And this on one of the very best 3GHz capable.

I'll include either the stock 4 heatpipe monster stock cooler or a zalman copper cooler with this sale.

$95.00 obo

Well if DWG wants it he can have it. I was just going to buy it and sit on it for awhile until I got enough money to make a home theater thing.
