Title: Monitor Swappage
Post by: sully! on October 27, 2005, 06:38:51 PM
I was thinking of getting this LCD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116355) sometime in the next few months, probably before the 100ML, maybe get myself a Christmas present. I was going to get an Xbox 360, but I know I'll get more use out of this than I would with an Xbox.

When I do, I will most likely be selling my current 19" CRT. It is a Viewsonic P95f (tech specs (http://www.viewsonic.com/support/desktopdisplays/crtmonitors/proseries/p95f/)) and I wanted to offer you guys first crack at it if you're interested.

I paid in the neighborhood of $450 for it brand new about 4 years ago and it hasn't lost any of its quality at all. This is a Pro Series monitor, designed with graphic artists, gamers, movie watchers, and all other types of power users in mind. The color is absolutely flawless and it even comes with software and a color matching guide to make sure you can keep it that way (which you shouldn't have to worry about since I went through that process when I first got it). The manual adjustments that are available are nearly endless, even allowing you to adjust just one corner of the screen for some things if you want.

Text is very crisp and well.....it's a damn fine CRT. My only problem is that when I got this I wasn't going to LAN parties so the idea of portability never entered my mind. Now that I do on a regular basis I dread taking this 60lb. behemoth with me, hence the LCD replacement. If you would like an awesome second monitor or something with perfect color reproduction for graphics or other work, this is still a great monitor.

I'm looking to get $150 OBO. If no one here is interested, I'll put it up on E-bay, but if you are, let me know and we can work out the details. Info is below ------V
