Looking for a Video Card AGP/PCI
« on: May 30, 2007, 08:38:23 PM »
Here's the deal. Czar showed me a glimpse of some Battlefield 2 action and I'm hooked like a meth head that got the first hit for free.

PROBLEM: My video card is no where close to specs and I need a new one. If anyone has one to get rid of, or knows where I can get one I am looking for these qualifications:

-PCI or AGP
-256 Mb
-Will work for battlefield 2

That's all. PM me if you like. Thanks guys.
Eventually something cool will go in here. It's a matter of time.

XFX makes a 7900GT AGP video card. It is 512MB and has an interface of AGP. 24 Pipelines, and clock speeds are 550/1300. I have a 7800GS from BFG, works wonderful. Although that XFX card would really look good and work better then what I got now. I should of done more research hope that helps you.

-PCI or AGP

Do you mean PCI-Express, or oldskool PCI?

You won't find a PCI video card for 3d acceleration that will give you BF2 performance levels, so you're looking for an AGP card. I've got a GeForce 5600 card that I'd be willing to part with for cheap, but it's only 128MB so it may not give you the performance levels you're looking for.
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

I have a MSI 5900XT 128MB AGP card, it also has the Artic Cooler 3 on it as well. I have pics if you want to see it. I will be willing to part with that as well. I also have a EVGA 6600LE 256MB card with a Zalman heatsink on that. But I don't think you want that one......

Unfortuneately Battelfield 2 website says that it needs to be GeForce 5700 or higher, but thanks!

Tiburonlover, check your PM's.

Well ok I will part with them, mainly because I need the money.

MSI 5900XT with the Arctic Cooler on it. $80
EVGA 6600LE with Zalman cooler. $50

The XT never gave me any problems at all. Runs HL2 very well, BF2 it will run but not in all its glory, so if you are looking just to play it and not worried about all the graphic quality be my guest. The LE wont play anything anymore, at the Jan lan I beat the Crap out of this thing. Not with a hammer but clock wise, yet you can still put it in a PC and still have picture you just can't play anything with it. I got an error from Max Payne 2 saying that the one resistor on the card has suffered damage and it can't run at full capacity or something. So if you just need a graphics card just to build a box for like a Ventrilo server or something it would be great.

The XT runs so much cooler now that it has the unit on it, I can't kill the thing. It should of been dead a long time ago, but it has been my old reliable and the first video card I ever purchased. All of these prices are negotiable especially the LE because it is all but worthless. If you don't want the LE my dad has a couple of M800s out back and I will just blow the thing up. Pictures upon request, I don't have school tomorrow so I can post them soon if you want pics.

Here's an example of a new card that I'm trying to shop around for in cost vs operating comparisons.

Not too bad reviews on it either....
