We do sometimes forget the knowledge we have and how people without the knowledge rely on sales people for advice.
I have talked to and heard sales people that have told incorrect things to customers at many electronic, gaming and computer stores. You have to remember we all have preferred hardware and opinions on different vendors and manufactures. You may think something is junk because of a past experience you had with a certain model of hardware and I may have a great experience with newer models of the same hardware. Store fronts are the same, the sales people are different people with different opinions and sometimes even sales rules that may not reflect what the owner of the store wants enforced.
If you think you are slighted and the store is not correct don’t be shy and ask to talk to the manager, if one is not available ask for the phone number and call back when a manager is available. You don’t have to be forceful or mean just be honest and explain what happened and why you feel slighted. You will be amazed at how often you will get what you want.
Alliance computers does have sales people that I would not want my friends taking advice from, but there are knowledgeable people there too. Another thing they do not market or tell you is they do price matching, Kirock a member of our clan has done this very often in a pinch. If you find something on newegg.com or a reputable website, they will match the price with the shipping and taxes included. You have to bring a printed web cart with the finalized price with the shipping and taxes and they will normally match the price. This does not include any special sales or anything just normal prices.
Anyhow that is my 2 cents…
