For Sale: 19" CRT Monitor
« on: September 14, 2008, 11:05:36 PM »
It's a Viewsonic 19" P95f Professional Series.

http://www.viewsonic.com/support/desktopdisplays/crtmonitors/proseries/p95f/

Looking for $50 OBO. I'd use it as a secondary display myself, but I just don't have the space on my desk. I can bring to the LAN this weekend if you'd like to partake in some CRT goodness as a secondary monitor or otherwise. I think I paid $450 back in the day when it was new. It's been all color calibrated and everything with the color calibration software that Viewsonic provides, but I lost that ages ago, so I won't be able to include that.

If no one here wants it, I guess I'll put it up for sale elsewhere. Thanks in advance.
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

Out of curiosity, why is it so expensive new?  Aren't CRT's getting kind of phased out?

Like I said, "Back in the day...". I think I got this in 2001 or 2002 when CRT's were still prevalent and LCD's sucked for gaming and graphics work. It is also, as reflected in the model name, a professional series monitor because of its high resolution support (Up to 1920x1440@77Hz, so no flicker even at high res) and high level of color accuracy. This thing actually has BNC inputs for red green and blue (as well as standard VGA of course)! I don't know why I ever thought I was going to use them because I never did and only ever used the VGA connection.

I saw it being sold currently for around $300.  I am guessing it is in high(er) demand for video editing or whatnot.

Sully,

Think it would work well for the display panel in Flight Simulator X?

My handy dandy tape measure says just under 18" wide, though the dimensions mentioned in the link of my first post say 18.5".
