Any MTG players out there?
-
Me and the twins play. Too bad we aren't closer. They get tired of getting beaten by me all the time.
-
I do play. Sadly I do not have any of my cards anymore.
-
Been tossing around the idea of getting into it. Not sure how much time I'd have to devote to it, though.
-
I have a pretty fast goblin deck I like to play. Nothing Standard though. It's all extended at this point
-
I would like to play but I don't like the idea of decks only being good for so long. How long is the average time before the decks are cycled out?
-
The decks can always be used to play with friends. If you are doing Tournament play then some cards will be phased out while others are reprinted and can still be used. Just for friendly play I have a Pestilence deck that i use for multiplayer games where the newest card is about 8 years old.

I have Alpha - Ice Age and then a sputtering of sets.
The whole game mechanics changed from the last time I played as well. I started playing Friday Night Magic booster tournaments.

T2 standard is always going to be the core set with the the latest expansion set. So in this case, we'd have in order of release:
Innistrad Expansion Block (Innistrad, Dark Ascension and Avacyn Restored)
M13 (2013)
Return to Ravnica Expansion Block (Return to Ravnica, Gatecrush, ???)
Basically it's always going to be the latest expansion set plus the latest core block. When M14 is released, you will phase out M13 and the Innistrad sets ...the only ones legal then will be M14 (when released) and the Return to Ravnica Expansion Sets.
Hopefully that kinda makes sense on rotation. Expansion will include back 2 core sets plus expansions, so off the top of my head, it prob is M12, M13, and all Sets From Scars of Mirridon on. Don't quote me on that but I believe that would be correct

I play, my friends and I usually play Legacy format. That type 2 Crap is for the little rich kids who can afford to constantly keep buying new cards.

I play some MTG. Mostly new rules but I do play. Actually not a very good player. Some of my wins have come down to pure luck or some other player making a really bad move.
