YnHub/DC++ - Tech Help
« on: March 27, 2008, 03:22:36 PM »
Attempting to setup a YnHub for DC++ just for a learning experience but am having issues. Tried a few things with no luck. Here's my setup:

Have YnHub Address set to my ip (only my ip...not with port included) 76.67.xxx.xxx

Have Ports being used set to 411 (information highway!)

I connect using DC++ favorites (again 76.67.xxx.xxx:411

When I go into settings > connection settings under DC++ it says direct connection with no UDP/TCP port specified (which i think is ok cause it only needs to be specified on connection since not all DC hubs operate under the same port)

Router is setup to port forward 411 to my computer network ip 10.100.1.109

Both firewalls on router and on xp are turned off and I could dmz if I thought it made a difference but I dont think it will

oh and the External/WAN is not specified on DC++ end

Error MSG:

<-Admin-> Your direct connect client has supplied an invalid IP address in a connection request (client sent 192.168.1.100, you have 68.83.146.175)

what am i doin wrong here? think everything is ok. Are they not port forwared which is causing the issue?

Well, it's not a direct connection... It's firewall with port forwarding. It's giving the hub your machine IP instead of your WAN IP.

so basically it's not possible because my personal DC is conflicting with the hub since we're operating under the same IP. I'd have to host through a different computer ie different ip for the hub so there wouldnt be a conflict between the 2

Wait. What? You are running it from the same machine!? Then why the hell are you using the external IP address to connect?
