I guess this would go in this forum.. Ok, i was watching a documentary on the atom bomb.. and in the majority of the footage, there were these white lines or tracers at the exact time each bomb was detonated:

The video didn't say what they were; didn't even acknowledge it was there. I spent a half hour googling every possible thing and I have seen no explanation(or even any mention) of it, besides one rogue site that claims it has something to do with UFOs. Was wondering if you guys had knew at all, becuase its bugging the hell out of me.

That photo looks doctored... are you sure the tracers were there originally?  If so, that is VERY odd!  They get thinner and tighter as they go up... looks like rockets going up.  Could it be anti-air defense?

Where/when was the bomb detonated?

it's notjust that bomb though. the documentary im watching has video footage of around 80 seperate detonations. the tracers or whatever they may be are clearly visable. When the bomb explodes you just see them appear. its not like you see them shoot down(or up?).... they're just there.

i'd splice out a section of the video and post it but i dont have any place to upload heh

oh but the bombs were detonated in a variety of places. nevada proving grounds, christmas island.. etc some a few hundred feet above ground, others on contact.. same weird ass tracers each time

Could it be pieces of the bomb bouncing up after detonation??  *grasping at straws*

i'd have to link you a torrent. But yeah thats what i was thinking it might be... but I figured that the bomb would be vaporized instead of fragmented.

Now Agent you should only worry if those so called "tracers" spelled out FITES in the background. OMFG that would be sweet. But yes that is very weird.

the tracers are probably shrapnel from the bomb or structure to hold the bomb shooting away from it.  That is why they get smaller as they go.  They are burning up.  This is probably one time where achems razor would apply.  The simplest explanation is probably the right one.
