SpinRite baby!!!

This program has saved many hard drives for me and I also listen to a podcast called Security Now hosted by the creator of SpinRite, Steve Gibson, and every week he has another testimonial from someone who's had SpinRite save the day for all kinds of devices other than standard hard drives, including TiVos and iPod's.

shado...  check out mythtv.  it's an open source DVR.  all you need is a POS computer you can put linux on, a linux compatible HD capture card, and a couple huge hard drives.

this kind of setup won't work for everybody, but...   it's how i would do it.  then again, i'm running everything off a projector hooked up to my gaming PC.  300" of glory.

I was bumping to help him fix it. MythTV is a POS compared to my TiVo. Yeah it does a lot more, but it's still clumsy and has extremely limited hardware support. I have a DirecTiVo and it just works. And that's really what I want when I go to watch tv. So Shadow let me know what model you have and I think I can get you a restore CD and we might as well upgrade the drive while we are at it. :)
