A friend was having some issues with her computer and asked me to take a look at it. These are from the inside.

Power supply and CPU fan

Under the CPU cooler
And that does not include the coffee and soda spilled on the top, ran into the CD bays, etc.
I pulled the whole thing apart and haved hosed down the inside and outside of the case. Will post after shots too.
Damn nasty tho.

Sadly, this is quite typical of a regular user's PC. I've come across one once that was that bad (or worse), plus had about an inch and a half of dust collected along the bottom. I joked that he could've been growing potatoes in there.
I gathered up the dust from the bottom of the case and what had settled onto the desk from me blowing things with canned air and it was a wad about the size of a softball. I am a stickler for keeping fans and cases free of dust, and I always made sure anyone I did computer work for understood the importance of keeping that thing clean, even if they only touched it once every 6 months.

haha.... i can get mine looking like that after about 2 months.... god my house is dusty...
the last time i was fixing a comp like that there were paper scraps, candy, legos and best of all 6$ in change(which i kept)... my nephew was using the open floppy bay as grabage can/coin holder...

At least you didn't have to break out the chisel... **shudders and curls up on the floor**

Before we moved to our new house, at our old apartment my computer would get pretty dusty in about three months! For some reason, those apartments were dust traps and my computer/desk was located right at the heat/AC vent.
