My old Raptors are starting to make some noise on initial boot up. I have been looking to replace these for some time now. I like some of the OCZ SSD drives. Just not sure which brand I should go for?

I have an OCZ Vertex 3 in my new Vaio Z series and so far its been running like a champ.

  I like the sandforce SF-200/2500/2600 based SSD's.  The Vertex 3 would be my choice in the current lineups.  I run two of the older SF-2000 based Vertex 2's in RAID0 currently.  If you get a latest gen one don't bother with RAID, on board RAID controllers just don't have the bandwidth to take advantage (AMD 8x0/9x0 and Intel ICH10R only have a pcie 1x lane).

I would wait a few months, prices have been dropping and will continue to drop, the longer you wait the better it is to buy.

Vertex 2 or Vertex 3 depending on if u have sata 3 or not. Either way the ocz ssd's are the best on the market
