I played both, but not for Wii. Honestly, I would say that Rock Band is a little bit better IMHO.

The guitars feel more realistic and the whole fact that Rock Band was the pioneer of adding the drums into the songs. I also thought the music was more generalized and fit for my taste.

How much storage do you have with the Wii? If you're looking at downloading a bunch of the DLC, then you might fill your available storage up pretty quickly. Rock Band has over 500 songs available in the whole catalog, not sure about GH:WT.
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

The Wii has little to no internal storage for that kind of stuff.  It depends on how much memory card (SD) space you have.  And I am not 100% sure, but I think the whole catalog of DLC is not available to the Wii.

I have both and my nephew plays both.  I have GH-WT for Wii and rock band2 for the 360.  He goes back and forth on which he likes better.  I don't play either because they're gay!!!!  just kidding.

Yeah because for instance, the Metallica downloadable content I have for WT is 1.2 GB of space alone (it's worth it since it has unforgiven 3 on it)

I like GH WT over Rockband. Linear progessions vs repetitiveness is no a brainer in my book. I feel WT is more challenging as well, especially when it comes to Bass, Vocals and Drums. Anyways, it's personal preference I guess on the song list and what you dig more. Though WT has been pushing a lot of downloadable content over the past month which is always a + in my book

unforgiven 3 is a gay a$$ song!!!!! any way GH:WT has a few good songs plus GH: MetallicA is coming out soon and has quite a few good song on it as well. but in contrast RB has an arse load of songs and genres to choose from. I personally like RB's instruments, the drums on GH:WT are nice and are more fun to play that the RB ones but that is when they function. the kick pedal for GH also feels squishy and unresponsive, not to say that it doesn't work but that you really cant tell when you're hitting it. with the RB pedal you can feel the thing bottom out and you know you hit it. sooo it's really a decision you have to make on your own. do you want butt loads of DLC, and instruments that work well (RB) or a more difficult set of songs with guitars that work better, IMO, than RB but a drum kit that has a soft kick pedal and somewhat unpredictable pads.(GH:WT) its pretty clear to me. but I'm kinda biased since I have about 100 DLC songs for RB.
