private e-mail help
« on: May 06, 2010, 09:19:15 PM »
I have web space through 1and1.com that I use to host a few web sites.  I have some friends who expressed an interest in aquiring some of my over 1,100 @the-graveyard.net addresses I have available.  My problem is the only way I know to set up these e-mail addresses is to log in to my 1and1 control panel, access I will not give out to others, but this means they have to tell me the e-mail password they want to use to log in to the account.  This is obviously not secure for them.  And as far as I can tell the 1and1 webmail service does not offer the option to change the e-mail password.  Is there some way I can set up a webpage to allow friends to set up their own e-mail account?

Never, but never question the engineers judgement.

Yeah I found that after someone else pointed it out to me.  I looked all through the webmail interface and couldn't find it.  What happened is that link is a faq for the webmail 1.0.  They use webmail 2.0 now and the option to change password is buried in a link that is just mysteriously labeled extras.
