Problems with new ATi Cataylist drivers

Has anyone had issues when updating to the ne catalyst drivers, I keep bombing HL2 and my FPS is down from ~120 to 80.

Unless I'm doing a format which then I just like to start out with the latest cats, I use Driverheaven's driver cleaner tool.  Works like a charm and nukes all the resident crap left behind from previous drivers.
