You don't need to use that router for DSL or FiOS, I used my WRT350n for both services.  No bridging needed, didn't even clone my MAC. Verizon just tells you to hold on to the crappy actiontec in case they need to troubleshoot the line, it has a Verizon spec firmware with utilities that Verizon can run remotely.
