pc power pull
« on: April 03, 2007, 08:59:53 AM »
Anyone know the breakdown of needed power for components in a pc?  In other words, how can the correct power supply wattage be determined (including SLI).

My rig runs solitaire on ultra high resolution!

Google is your best friend. Although I do remember someone posting a website that gave you a form to fill out of how many components you have in your system. Then afterwards it told you what kind of wattage you would need to run everything. I just can't remember the website at the moment.

Everyone at the overclockers.com forums will tell you that this is a pretty good tool:

I wouldn't trust most power supply manufactures ratings,  OCZ, Sparkle, PCP&C make some pretty solid units.  Antec has gotten kinda dodgy lately.  If you are building a high end rig spend some money on a PSU. If it's just a plain system get your self a half decent one, just dont get the cheapest one possible.
