Title: Mystery License Plate
Post by: sully! on June 10, 2009, 10:53:53 AM
I was driving down I-81 this morning and a Honda Odyssey passed me with a license plate I'd never seen before. It wasn't a state plate, it some kind of foreign plate, but there was nothing I could see that identified its origin. I checked http://www.worldlicenseplates.com/, (http://www.worldlicenseplates.com/,) but there's just so many of them there that I couldn't find it. Has anyone ever seen a plate like this or have an idea where it comes from? Sorry about the quality, but Paint is all I had at my disposal at the time.

As for the accuracy of m drawing, the top line had "HK" and the bottom line had some numbers. The right side was a yellowish circular design on some sort and along the left side was that shield looking thing, with a small bit of red along the bottom and some kind of design on it that had a splash of orange/red (as depicted). Along the very left was that lighter blue box with "US" in it.

Any ideas?

Actually, I think it still may be an HK diplomat plate...

That's from Hong Kong internally...so I think it's probably like Mark said...a diplomat plate or something.

Found it: (maybe)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/16/HK-Nummernschild.jpg (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/16/HK-Nummernschild.jpg)
Its appears to be "License plate of US military forces in Germany."

I would guess the color of the circle on the right is the yearly expiration of the tag.  Here is a blue one: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/30/USA-Army-Kennzeichen.jpg (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/30/USA-Army-Kennzeichen.jpg)

The car was being driven by this man (attached):

I think Agent's got it. I'm quite impressed. I thought it may be a diplomat plate at first too, but it just didn't look right. I've seen those before and this one was different.

And for the record, it was a woman driving, not Czar, as your attached picture suggests.

Yeah...that's what I meant.....yeah....

I guess I just glanced at the name and the capital A in Aces through me off. When was the last time FiveAces posted? December 23, 2008! It threw me for a loop, I didn't expect to see anything from him.

Much like my hopes and dreams:

I thinks they got censored.
Were you going for these?

I wasn't going for them.  I went and got them.  That's why there is a pic and not a bad link to an empty pic place holder.

Ok sorry for bringing this back from the dead, but I saw a tag in traffic and it had a frame and I couldn't see the bottom to determine what it was.  So here is my mspaint version.
