So, about a year ago I rescued a Compaq Armada 7730MT from a dumpster. It had Win 95 already installed on it, but nothing else. After trying a variety of Linux distros ( Puppy, DSL, whichever Ubuntu is the tiny one..., etc ) I've decided to put Win 98 on it. Using a program called 98lite, I can remove the un-needed features of 98, while still having all its functionality. So, my question to you is: what games should I install on my new system? I vaugly remember playing some old DOS games on my dad's laptop, but cannot really remember any good ones ( except 688 Attack Sub, which is badass). So if anyone has suggestions of what to add, let me know. Hopefully my new baby can make it to the next LAN with me. Oh, btw, here are some specs:

I have one for you. Master of Magic. It is an awesome turn based strategy game. Kinda like civilization but with magic. I have an ISO of it or I am sure you can find a copy somewhere. It does work with XP except for sound. That is one thing I haven't gotten to work right.

are u guys kidding...best game for that hands down has to be jetpack or Hugo's House of Horror hands down...LOL

DOOM! FTW! and.... Rise of the Triad, Shadow Warrior (one of the funniest early FPS's!) Blood, another funny one! Duke Nukem. Quake 1. Descent, Dark Forces, Terminal Velocity. My god, there are so many!

Maybe this could be the start of a new LAN party: Old School IPX!
Rules: PC must be below a pentium 4, must have less than 512Mb ram, and can not have any newer AGP cards (although that probably would be easy since anyhting below a P4 usually won't be able to handle a newer AGP card)

I would just bring along my old laptop. 400 Mhz. Or I could put a system together around my old VooDoo 3 card. The possibilities are endless.

Before there was Unreal Tournament, there was......JAZZ JACKRABBIT! (http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/111)

I loved that game.
-
Tie fighter was good I even have x-wing alliance around here somewhere.
-
Battlefront II has a couple of nice space fight maps where you can pilot x-wings and tie fighters. We might have to do that at the next LAN.
-
I guess you are coming around for Battlefront 2.
-
I remember playing BattleFront 1 ages ago when we still had lans in Bill's basement. It never caught on. The first one, at least, wasn't all that fun IMO... so I never bothered to try #2. Though, I've never been a fan of the star wars games (except for the really old ones) so I may be biased :P
-
That was the thing with me I never played Battlefront, but when the sequel came out I bought it. My friend had it for the XBOX and it wasn't that bad. I acquired the first one by getting the "Best of PC Collection", which included 5 Star Wars games in one box. I already had two of the games so the other three added to the collection.
I love the old Star Wars games just as much as the next guy. But it is going to be hard to acquire Battlefront 2 these days. I got lucky and got it at Gamestop in the mall for $20. And it was the only one they had left, they just took the price down to get it out. And I haven't seen a copy since then.
