IP cop is another good choice, a lil easier to config IMO, but you loose a LOT of power with it.

Sometimes it's about easy of use not feature bloat.

IP cop ISO: 46mb
m0n0wall DISK IMAGE: 7mb

m0n0wall is strictly a router/firewall. IPcop gives you IDS and all types of other good stuff

simplicity is key

I have had a few Linksys devices personally (upgraded various features as I needed them, not because they died) and I got my dad a Netgear for Christmas about 3 years ago. Both brands have been champs.

Shado's right about Belkin. Sometimes they work just fine, others....who knows. I'd stay away from them. I'm just glad Microsoft doesn't make home networking products anymore. I hated those things with a passion. They never seemed to work right.
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

As much as I hate microsoft, I will acutally pipe up and say that i've been using a microsoft router as my gateway at home for like 2 years now, and it has easily seen at least 1tb of traffic. I actually like it, and it works

(now my cable modem is another story)
