Can anyone help me figure out how to set up a UT2004 server over hamachi. I have opened all my ports and taken down the xp firewall. Just trying to get some gaming down over a virtual lan here. Thanks

Technically, you don't even have to use port forwarding, or opening ports when using hamachi. Just have people join your network, and make sure everyone has windows firewall disabled. It has worked for me in the past with UT2004... *shrug*

Hmm, I've never heard of hamachi before this....looks like some LAN only servers can be played over the net...Quake Wars Beta or GRAW2 anyone?
-
I am definately up for some more Quake wars. Now that the objectives are known it should make the game more fun.

I am up for it as well, but hamachi is kryptonite to my PC. It never works, user error probably.

you might need to port forward for hamachi. In the settings you can set it to use a specific port to connect and then just port forward that port. That is what i do and it works like a charm.

I was more or less looking for someone who has done this before. cause (like I said before) I opened all ports and taken down the XP firewall and I still can't get it to work. But thanks anyway. I sure hope ur pick up game that u arranged in my support post goes over well.

Well, I have done this before... I've used Hamachi constantly(refer to sig, although I'm offline atm...bioshock and all) for a couple years now. If you want, shoot me a PM, I'll share my hamachi network info for you to test it out. I was playing UT2004 as well as ventrilo over my hamachi network a week before the 150, so I know it works.

next time, I'll start a new thread since i inadvertantly 'jacked' yer thread. My apologies.
