CPU Temp
« on: January 25, 2006, 09:24:28 AM »
Ok,

Just for curiosity sake, what is everyone temping as far as there cpu...I just installed a watercooling kit in my comp, but it seems like the temp is a little on the high side. Right now, I'm sitting at 30 c...or 90 degrees f.

What do others clock in at? A friend of mine is at 78 f and he's through ait cool. Granit, he's running a 3000+ and I'm running a 4000+, would that make a difference?

If this is adnormal, let me know of any ideas u could think of to fix this issue. Could it be that my hosing is too long and my pump is pumping fast enough? Your Thoughts...Thanks in advance

Oh yeah, just some fyi - its running at 30c on idle, but after playing cs:s for about 3 hours last night, it was at full load at 35...What was amazing however is that I got it up to 2.7 oc'd and it still never broke the 40c mark, it was at load around 38. Pretty sweet that I had my 2.4 go up to 2.7. I of course brought it down to standard, but the watercooling seems to do really good for oc'ing..

I run around 30 c.

What thermal compound are you using? Some (AS5) require a "break in" period of up to 2 weeks.

Got you all beat. Playing BF2 mine goes up to around 60-62C. Of course, I'm not using water-cooling and my airflow sucks. Hopefully I'll have the money soon to get a new case and switch to water-cooling.

ouch, I think 65c is unhealthy for it...Anyway, it seems to be ok for now. Will let it in overnight to "burn in". Oh, and I'm using artic silver 5 thermal paste (the expensive crap)

AS5 takes the longest of all the compounds. Up to 3 weeks.

Actually, from what I remember reading, Pentiums can take the heat a lot better than an AMD processor. I don't really notice any slow down once my comp hits that mark.

Hehe, mine used to run around that temp, almost approaching 70C on a hot day, before I removed some lighting and cleaned the fans really well. I also turned the heat off on the 3rd floor of our house where the computer is kept. So, um, yeah!  :boxer:
