When I worked at Walmart... (ugh..) Electronics dept, I had a kid come to me with a recipt and an opened HL2 box. He proceeded to tell me that the discs inside were fake and that he wanted to exchange it for another unopened box.
I said helllllllz no. (because I knew the trick..get another box, another CD key, give to a friend or sell.)
So I looked at the CDs asked what was fake about em..he said they were Earthlink Installation CDs with fake printed out HL2 disc labels on em.
Uh huh...sure..
Upon closer inspection and a little picking with my finger nail, i revealed 5 Earthlink CDs.. nice job kid.
So I offered to exchange them for 5 new HL2 cds only. He keeps the CD key and all that. Surprisingly, he wasn't pissed.. So, with an eyebrow raised, I went and got a new box, opened it, took out the 5 cds and looked at em.
They looked funny. The labels were kinda..fake looking. More finger nail action revealed (GASP) 5 Earthlink Installation CDs. The box was totally sealed and everything before I opened it, I made sure to check.
We went through 8 boxes until we found a set that wasn't fake. Turned the fakies over to Loss Prevention and I assume they took care of it (which means they did nothing and went back to watching the hotties come outta the ladies changing rooms).
