Title: Comcast support
Post by: vincegun on December 31, 2010, 06:55:24 AM
I suppose this goes under the support group section, since I've got a question about my comcast bill and am technically asking for "support" in understanding.

Or maybe I'm just tired. Damn 3rd shift sleep schedules (nevermind that I've been off work since the 24th due to the plant closing for a week).

Anyway, I just paid some of my current bill off after not having enough money for a couple weeks to do anything about it and I see this charge of $8.35 under "unbilled activity" and it sections it off for services such as non-recurring charges, PPV, etc, but I'm sure you all know that. I don't have a tv box (not paying for only 5-7 channels that I have interest in), so PPV is out of the question. The only comcast equipment I have here is the cable modem and a tech hasn't been out here since I moved into this apartment. $8 isn't a lot of money and I have no reason to dispute it, but what could that charge have been for? Comcast hasn't started charging for when you go over your monthly cap, have they?

I believe the $8.35 they charge extra is for your local channels like NBC, FOX, etc.

If you have any questions about specifics of your bill, you can call 1-800-COMCAST and speak to someone. They'll be able to tell you exactly what the charges are for.

In the event Company, in its sole discretion, chooses to forego billing the Customer for access services in any particular month(s), Company reserves the right to back bill Customer for any unbilled recurring or nonrecurring charges for a period of twenty-four (24) months.

This is from a link labeled comcast. But looks like its based in Colorado.  The best way to deal with this is pretty much as Sully said call and bitch politely inquire as to the cause of said charge and request a credit.
