Windows install over mutiple disks?
« on: July 25, 2010, 02:42:52 PM »
I would like to install windows and put program files on another disk.  I just got some SSD's (2x60GB) and Id like to boot and launch games from this disk, I am happy with launching regular applications from a spindle drive and would like to conserve space on the SSD's.

Is it doable to relocate program files to another disk, I can mount the volume as a directory but how to move the files over without borking things is a mystery.

To move currently installed programs: http://www.funduc.com/app_mover.htm, though always best to just uninstall/reinstall.

Or, if you're starting from the beginning, change your environment variables to the new drive letters so the install always defaults to D: or whatever your spindle drive is.
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!
