I tried firing it up last night and all it did was try to load and then crashed back to the loader screen.

mine has crashed almost everytime. I got in twice for about 3-5minutes before I got kicked back.

The one that is leaked for sure is the luxury variant. A way of role playing and showing people how deep you roll in the credits as you negotiate an agreement while sailing the stars. For sure going to be a cargo and combat model. Possibly a deep exploration model with jump drive, but that may be lumped in with cargo like it is on the freelancer.
