So, with the recent update that allows you to see the two final ships of the Next Great Starship finale, I have met the limits of my gear.

Frame rate was horrible. Artifacting and glitches. Upgrade time is nigh my friends!

BTW, are we supposed to be able to get into those ships yet?

And how about that funding goal?! One day we breach 45 mil, the next day we already 25% to 46 mil.

Yeah I doubt for the contest that would go all out and render the interiors.

I am actually looking at 290 cards from AMD. They give great performance for cost.

Also, the current state of the game is not optimized at all. People shouldn't feel like running for a Titan any time soon, but it would suck to get a card that doesn't do much even when the game is optimized. It's all so speculative so far, but my current card is a 580. So I am behind and in need of a pick up.

Now, you are on a solo 770, right? I am thinking that an SLI setup may yield better results. Especially with an optimized experience.

One of the devs on the forums said he was running SLI 290 and was not expecting anything near 60 FPS for now.

My Alienware M18x is showing it's age.  I have 2 6990m's in crossfire and it is hurting.  Although, there is an sli/crossfire bug now that only lets you use one card.  Hopefully it improves she that gets sorted out.  I still plan on building an sli rig this winter.

I am able to runt he game at its highest settings and get 50-60 FPS.

I'm looking into the R9 290 as an upgrade. As I compare stats, it just seems to be a better dollar to performance ratio than Nvidia. JR and his 780 will reign supreme overall, but I think the price point is worth losing about 10 FPS.

Of course, this is according to current bench marks and don't reflect the final game.

Most recent update seems to have cost me FPS.  I am getting 40-50 now.
