FITHLan is back!
« on: March 09, 2009, 05:39:25 PM »
After an almost 2 year hiatus I have gotten many requests to host another LAN in the cemetery.  April Begins my busy season so my last opportunity to host a LAN before June would be saturday march 28.  I would like to, with fites permission, just use this thread for signup.  My limit is about 20 people though I can seat more it just requires renting a few tables.  If you are planning on coming please post here whether I have talked to you or not so I can have a list together by the 27th.  If you plan on coming please post, if I do not get enough people I will cancel it and 3 people not posting could mean the difference between the lan happening or not happening.

If you have never been to a FITH lan the rules are pretty standard, rule #1 respect other peoples Crap, rule #2 see rule #1.  Also I am allowing alcohol at this event as I'm sure I can handle a few drunk geeks if it gets rowdy :box2:.  Any minors attending must be accompanied by someone who will be responsible for them and their parents/guardians are to be informed that this is not a daycare so if the minor is not permitted around adults cutting loose they best stay home.  And as always there is no door charge but you may want to bring $$ for the inevitable pizza run.

If you have a dedicated game server feel free to bring it.  I have long ago sacrificed my old dedicated servers to the spare parts gods.  There will be internet service though I know not how effective it will be as I will be testing out using my wireless router and bridging it into the LAN so speeds may not be blazing fast so watch the torrenting.

Also if you have never been here you can mapquest/google/whatever 851 Jefferson Ave. Tyrone, PA 16686.  If you wish you can also PM me and get my cell # and I can talk you in once you get into town.

I'm looking forward to some old school serious sam co-op and enemey territory.

I think we need to do some Serious Sam 2 coop.  Also I will see if I can get a half decent BF2:HJ server going on one of my machines so we can do a million bot march with BF2.  I am so there.

For any first timers heading up there, when the directions you are following take you what looks like directly into a cemetary....well, there's a reason he's called gravdigr ;). The first time Agent and I went up there I thought we were lost, little did we know we were literally right outside the building. Digr stepped out the door and waved while I was on the phone with him LOL
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

And the good part about that is that the neighbors don't complain when you are too loud.  They are DEAD!  Might make Left 4 Dead a little creepy though.

Agent and I went up twice in my POS car. You have a new(ish) car that you should have no trouble getting there with. 2 1/2 hours is not that far.

2 and 1/2 hours isn't that bad considering I drive 3 hours each way to go to a FITES Lan.  Then again Tibs had enough problems driving 20 minutes to go to LANs.

Well speaking of POS cars. I sold the Cavalier this evening. And made $800 on it.

See if any other fites guys are coming.  Maybe you can carpool out.  I'm sure there will be some beer left in the keg I got for a party this saturday.  Little added incentive?  =o)

Kind of on the fence digr, that's like a four-and-a-half hour drive for me.  On the other hand, I relish the chance to light another spool of cable on fire...

Well the wife gave me the go ahead to upgrade our internet from the measly 3Mb down 768Kb up dsl to a comcast cable package with 16Mb down 2Mb up so we may be able to open up our lan servers to the internet and have some folks that couldn't come join the festivities online.
