Title: East Coast LAN possible change to ut2k4?
Post by: Fallen on May 02, 2006, 10:53:38 AM
Ever gone to http://www.eastcoastlan.com only to be disappointed that somehow they have a quake 4 tourney, but no ut2k4 tourney?  Well, now is the community's chance to speak out.

They dropped the prizes in Q4 from $3100 total, to a mere $1300, making room for 2 different CS tournies!?  Their reasoning was that quake 4 was not very popular...so why even have quake 4 at all?  I'm trying to change this to at least be a ut2k4 4v4 CTF tourney (feel free to ask for a different gametype like DM, ONS, etc...anything but quake 4).

If you would like to help, vote/post in this poll:

I'm glad UT2K4 is getting back in some of the action. earlier this year, CPL(or CAL, i cant remember) announced that it is dropping UT2K4 as a tournement game. I hear they reinstated it. IMO, it doesn't get into the spotlight as much as it deserves.

Yeah, I hear that.  I've been to a handful of LANS on the east coast, big and small, and UT2k4 is always one of the more popular games.

I don't want to offend anyone by saying this. But I think it is because it has such a low entry barrier.  What I mean is that the hardware needs aren't extreme. They game play is easy to learn.... AND IT'S FUN! I have it as one of those games I play at lan parties or something I fire up when I am getting pissed off at CS:S players.
