Hey guys,
I know it's kinda old, but I never really saw this thread before.
I'm the head coordinator of BurningLAN, Eric Abruzzese, and I wanted to thank Blake... er... Boofy for his contributions. I know he said it was run by a much younger crowd, but myself and the rest of the staff are all at least 18 (so I see his point, but many of us are at least college-age). Just so you know a bit about me: I am currently attending Shippensburg University for Computer Science, planning on transferring to MIT to complete my Master's/Doctorate. I am currently MCSA, MCSE, MCDST, Red Hat, Debian, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, CEH, Security+, A+, and Net+ certified and am still taking exams for others.
Now, as for the post:
I wanted to thank FITES, it's staff, forum admins, the community, etc, for being so... constructive. I honestly thought this thread was going to end in the continual bashing of my website.
Honestly, I don't really like Joomla. Not at all. But a website is almost absolutely crucial for any successful LAN, and seeing as how we hold BurningLAN rather frequently, we needed a quick, painless setup that was flexible and at least somewhat easy to use, so we could start posting and getting the info to our attendees. Being a developer and a designer myself, I've been working on a CMS and a better design based on the versatile CodeIgniter framework, entirely powered by the jQuery engine for AJAX. I've got a few friends who do intensive CSS work, but we want it to look good and be functional before it's release.
Now, I don't know where that fellow was going that he got a bunch of 404s and PHP errors, because I've built a crawlerbot (cronjob) to crawl my specific site to find broken links, errors, and 404s. I'm thinking this was when we switched from HostGator to Dreamhost, judging by the date of posting. So, I'm not just some kid who threw up a Joomla site - I do development, design and SEO for a living. Thanks for understanding guys

As many in this thread have posted, it would be in the gaming community's best interest if local LANs helped each other out. So, if anyone has any suggestions, questions, advice, whatever, please feel free to email me!
