I vote for hard justice tonight.

I second that!

I just spent 30 bucks on cables for the laptop after last night. Everyone was talking about media centers and junk and I never got into it until I hooked up a converter box, a svid cable and a rca to 3.5 converter to the laptop and started watching bond on the tv. I've priced out a 500 dollar media center project with 2 Caviar Black TB drives, Sound Blaster X-FI Audigy Card and a XFX 9400. The coin spent today was on a 24k gold plated rca to 3.5 y cable and a gold plated s-video cable. Mobo has a 7100 and built in HDMI if I ever go to the point of high def. (i should say when my rents go to the 42" big screen)

I guess I know where my next paycheck is going...I just keep on putting off my gaming rig every week. LOL. Sorta funny when you think about it (Server, now Media Center...I may even go ahead and buy the 48 port switch before I finally get around to putting together a decent gaming rig)

The nice thing about a media center box is that it doesn't need a whole lot of power behind it.  I built one out of an old Dell I had laying around.  Only a 1.4 Ghz Intel and a GeForce 5200, but it is plenty to show video on my 1368X768 32" LCD TV.  The only thing I am missing right now is the TV tuner card and media center remote.  Those will be about $100 to finish off the system.

I was going to ask about the whole remote and junk? is it fairly easy to set that stuff up? I didnt include it into my budget because I was going to just use a wireless keyboard and mouse. Not really to capture anything...I'll just throw stuff over to it wireless using RDT from the laptop

It is PCI-Xpress 1, just for your information. I don't know your board so I just thought I tell you.

Not a problem.  Should work fine in the system.
