I am sure Petch, Curse and I would be down. Shadow, zx2slow and rinso have played... We could get a full VS going.

I would, but I need to work out what the hell is going on with my vid card.  L4D had a normal good framerate but ever since I updated my bios on my 8800gt it lags every so often for up to 5 seconds.  Not sure if it's the bios or the new drivers.  I'll roll back my driver tonight at some point.  This ONLY happens in L4D.
That's Mr. Deception to you.

I'll finally be getting L4D this Friday (last day of the Steam Holiday Sale, BTW) so all you bastages can stop asking me to play and me having to say no again and again and again and again....Yeah, I'm talking about you Petch ;)
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

I'm still working on getting the server up and working Dave. I mean it works but when I set it up to only steam groups, tibs couldn't connect. That's why he asked u about the group id Mark (not sure if u knew I was working on it or not). I'm going to try to get it going tonight but its been tough since I don't have the game as well. Hopefully I can get the steamgroup setup right along with a reserve list to autokick ppl for fites players (that's the plan at least)

Is there really a reason to run a ded serv for l4d?  That is how I usually host a game.  Steam sets up ded servs on their network for steam users (well l4d users) to host dedicated servers for either private or public servers.

EDIT:  Unless you want it for the big lans, which after I read yer post twice I figured that's what you mean.

hmmm thats a good point maybe we should forget that dedicated server for now then.  I didn't know how they did it on the steam servers.

Well, like I said, if we wanted to play at a LAN we may need a dedicated since we won't have internet...even if we did, having 8 people trying to log into a steam ded serv is enough to kill any cable connection let alone 150 people trying.  But we could just host the server on the machine that we play from.

Try setting 'mat_queue_mode 0' in the console, mine was doing the same thing, its your proc not the video card causing that issue.

Also I'm off until Wednesday and am good to go if you guys wanna play.

Yeah the left4dead was mainly for lan not really internet. But still setting one up to work automatically with fites steam group is pretty cool idea I thought
