Thinking about the 150 LAN
« on: August 15, 2006, 07:57:21 PM »
Sup guys, I'm new here. I'm thinking about going to the 150 man LAN with a friend of mine.  Looking forward to the fun =]

Also, I'm wondering if you guys ever host DOTA tournaments.  My friends clan EqP is currently going into CAL-M for DOTA and we are looking for lan centers that host DOTA tournaments within a decent time range from philly.  Anyways, if you guys do that'd be kickass.. we've been really trying hard to find one.  Also looking for sponsorship. We've had a few offereings but we're shopping around for the best we can get =] Anyways, hope for a response.

Thanks!

lol, yeah, i noticed this lan center kinda late so I'm not going to be going to this one i decided. I'll definatly going to be going to future lans though.  You guys normally have parties once a month or so right? =] If so I'll try to bring the entire EqP team if they can set up some sort of dota thing =] If not ill try to get a UT2k4 team going... I have a few friends that are pretty damn good at it including myself ;]

What is DOTA?

Also, just FYI, we aren't a lan center.  We have small lans (less than 40 people) about every 6 weeks... the large ones like this only come along once, maybe twice a year.

So if you miss this, you wont see another large event in central PA for a while.

ahh, gotcha.. DOTA is the most well known Warcraft III custom game.  www.dota-allstars.com i think the site is.  It's gradually becoming an extremely competitive game.  CAL-M teams are beginning to get sponsored as well as Cal-O teams that did well in the playoffs but didn't quite make it to the top.

Ahh ok... I doubt that game will ever catch on at a FITES lan.  Granted you are welcome to play it all you want, but typically LANParties are first person shooter oriented.

I love DOTA, if there is enough DOTA players out there, we could get some games rolling.
