I was told about FITES by a guy in BC2. I am interested in kickin it at some LANs just to meet others who game from the area and get in some good competition matches.
Little about me:
I am 37 and I have been gaming since the Atari 2600 days. I own an IT consulting/computer repair business here in Philly so I get to set my own hours and game as much as I like. :2thumbsup: I build custom systems all the time so I keep up on all the latest hardware. I am also pretty big into overclocking and benchmarking so yeah, my job is my hobby and my hobby is my job. I feel that everyone should be so lucky. Right now I play BC2 exclusively, but I have played Doom3, CS:S, and COD4 in clans and formal scrims, and played TWL NA ladders in BF2142 while being the scrim coordinator for a 200+ member clan.
I am currently admin for a 24-man BC2 server, although we don't get much traffic anymore: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/208.167.246.178:19567/ (http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/208.167.246.178:19567/)

Welcome.
I found only one problem with your post. You didn't plug your own business! ;)

Thanks for the welcome guys. I think the organization and site are really cool. I can't wait to meet you guys one day for some close-combat ownage. :chair:
Although it may change later, I just want to let you know why I don't associate my real business identity too readily with my gaming/online life. I am sure you will understand.
I usually like to stay a bit anonymous with new clans/forums/organizations for a little while until I get to know what it's all about, if you know what I mean. As I am sure a lot of you know, after you been server admin extensively and a high-ranking clan member for a long time that the privilege also comes with some haters, You have no choice but to make some enemies if you are an effective admin. PhillyOC and PhillyOverclocker are usually my handles on all games and servers so I like to keep that info away from people I have banned in the past, especially those I have had perm banned and had license keys taken away from for hacking. People get a little upset sometimes when they are banned form your server, but they get in a vengeful rage when you have their game key perm-banned from online play altogether. I really don't need some 14-year-old hacker noob crank calling my business over and over because I banned him and he found out who I am.
But don't worry. I will be bringing business cards to any LANs I might see you guys at, and I will surely be buzzing around the forum and checking back time to time to see if anyone needs tech support. (within reason lol :tongue2:)
Thanks again for the welcome and see ya around!

Fair enough.
But I don't think we have anyone under 18 who regulars on our forums... And if there are they are well behaved.
Many of us here are also in IT in some shape or form so you shouldn't need to waste your time helping out instead of playing games. :D

Welcome! Hope you can join in on our teamspeak server some evenings (a few is on weeknights normally, but the majority usually show up on the weekends).
Games we play are all over the place. Lots of BC2 lately, but there is also a decent amount of TF2, HL2:DM, L4D2, Supcom2, etc. We're always up for trying new games. We even have been doing a decent amount of "Lead and Gold."
Hope to see you around.

Hey Philly. I remember playing some BC2 with you and mentioning FITES. Glad you stopped by! We're a unique group. Mostly older gents (20s - 30s and beyond..)
And yes I highly recommend the Teamspeak chatter that happens almost nightly. Usually around 10 of us on. A good group of lads :)

As far as I can tell, you can't add more than 20 people to the bc2 friends list. No idea why that is.
-
That's what EA thinks of us. "There is no way a PC gamer has more than 20 friends!"
-
Hence the reason for no LAN in BF3. Why put a feature in when a person doesn't have more than 20 friends to utilize said feature?
-
I never linked those two thoughts! It all make sense now... Maybe we should start a "I have more than 20 friends who play PC games!" "awareness" campaign. I mean there are tons of other awareness campaigns.
"I have more than 20 friends EA!" --FITES.NET

2nded your campaign!
-
If they are going to restrict us to only 20 friends, they need to give us an enemies list. I know there are at least 20 tards out there I want to hunt frequently.
