Hello from Lewisberry
« on: January 07, 2015, 03:14:15 PM »
Hey everyone! Just learned about this event on Reddit, and imagine my surprise to learn one of the biggest (If not the biggest) LAN party in PA!

I'm absolutely interested in attending FITES 2015 this year, looking forward to meeting everyone.

I'm curious - how are tournaments organized? Do you need a full team or are you placed with randoms? I have a few CS:GO players that would be interested in playing a tournament.

Welcome!

Check out http://intranet.fites.net/tournaments. That is our tournament page for this years big LAN where you can register your team. You do not need to come with a full team but many of our attendees come with friends/family/teammates. There will be a PUG list at the LAN itself if you are short a few people.

Glad to see so many people coming to the group! Welcome to FITES.

You and your friends are welcome to use our Teamspeak server anytime. (ts.fites.net) Don't be surprised if someone comes in asking about where you heard of us. We're not grilling anyone, we just want to get our community to grow.

We're a mostly older group of gamers that are in it for the fun. I, personally, am getting amped and pumped for the LAN. It's just a lot of fun and getting to see that annual LAN Family that is FITES is great. Our LAN is pretty unique compared to other LAN events out there. Have you been to others? We love to hear what people like and don't like about it.

Anyway, I could go on talking about how great the LAN is, but Twins gave you the link to the intranet. We also have a facebook page, and steam group you might want to follow along with.
Eventually something cool will go in here. It's a matter of time.

Awesome, thanks for the info, I'm looking forward to playing a lot of Killing Floor and other games with everyone! It's actually my first LAN, I'll be on the teamspeak tonight to get to know everyone.

One quick question, though, are those tournament times / dates accurate or TBD? It seems that, for instance, the CS:GO tourney is scheduled for Friday at 3AM which is confusing.

I seriously cannot wait for this!

Yes, I don't think the time hasn't been finalized. We won't make the CS players or any tournaments play at 3am. ;)
