I know the movie..... It has Martin Lawrence in it.... Dammit I can't think of the name of the movie!  He just got out of prison at that point for stealing diamonds, then the rest of the movie is about him recovering them from a police station that got built where he hid the diamonds.

Just to kill the ending (if you haven't seen it) he escapes to Mexico.
