Highest reported price I've been able to find for this sucker has been a little over $100,000. As far as I can tell, RED seems to have set out to make the most BADASS camera ever. (for big budget movies, obviously)

Sort of like a transformer or something. From the looks of it, you can slap together multiple modules of the same type together. Some of the pictures on their website look like some crazy sci-fi killing machine. I reiterate... BAD ASS!

Man, I was looking at the pictures and I can't tell how they talk to each other.. the modules that is.

I remember hearing about these about a year ago. IIRC, the people behind RED are the same people behind Oakley. Their goal is to produce extremely high end cameras (for use in film making/television) for a fraction of the cost. Cameras of this capability that are currently used in filmmaking can cost upwards of a half-million.
