Geek pR0n! Very Safe For Work!
« on: July 19, 2009, 01:40:35 PM »
Heh, this is really cool!  I would buy a print, but it's pretty damn expensive.

File is very large! 25Mb +/-

If anyone can figure out how to get this to print properly, let me know.

I have tried all of the following and nothing will print the full size image out on our plotter:

GIMP
Paint .Net
Paint
Corel Paint Shop Pro
Irfan View
Photoscape
Picasa
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
Microsoft Office Picture Manager
Quicktime PictureViewer
Visio 2003

Have you tried photoshop yet?  And I have no idea what to use for plotters (if they need a special program or whatever).  And does it print the full image only very small or is it printing only say one corner of the image that looks like it was magnified?

I was always successful at using Acrobat to print to the plotter I used to have access to.  I am going to print this to a 11 X 17 and see how that works.  Biggest printer I have access to currently.  If 11 X 17 doesn't work I will try to mosaic print it across multiple sheets.  I will let you know how it turns out.

Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

Have you tried photoshop yet?  And I have no idea what to use for plotters (if they need a special program or whatever).  And does it print the full image only very small or is it printing only say one corner of the image that looks like it was magnified?

I didn't try photoshop as I am trying to do this from my work laptop and I didnt have a "copy" on hand.  Our plotter is plenty big enough to print this out at full size, but depending on what program I tried it varied on what it would print.  Sometimes it would print out what would fit on an 8.5x11, even though I made sure all the plotter options were set etc etc... Sometimes it would shrink the image to odd sizes, and sometimes it would just print a random area of the image that would fit on standard paper.

I think photoshop would do the trick but I didn't have it at work today, and I have a feeling I just wont feel like screwing around with it tomorrow.  I really thought Visio would be a winner considering I use it all the time to print out my network diagrams on the plotter, but it just kept jacking everything up....

If anyone gets it to print right, let me know whats up!

I was able to print it to an 11 X 17 sheet of paper.  I did download the large file (took me a while to figure out how) and I will try to mosaic print it across pages today using acrobat.

I was able to make a PDF out of the image.  Reduced the file size down to ~3 MB.  Acrobat allows you to tile print documents very easily.  Let me know if you want a copy of the PDF and I will send it.

Yep, that's why I'm trying to use the plotter.
