Heh.. basically.. Cynthx was who she said she was in the first place. Some time after she made her debut on the forums, I told her about the thread we had going in the VIP forums about the speculation that Cynthx was a hoax. She thought that was hilarious. It's was actually her idea to post in the forums saying she was a guy. I just agreed to go a long with it. The joke didn't even need setting up really. Peoples' doubt and paranoia propelled the joke right along.
Can't say I can totally blame ya though... Take MMO's for instance. A crapload of the female characters you see are actually guys... and a handful of those guys claiming to be girls. Some of the doubt and paranoia is reasonable. To be honest though, I took her word as truth right off the bat. Figured it was best to take it as such than to be doubtful right away. Turns out this time, I was right heh.
But yeah, just the fact that decepticon, dave, and some others kept goin on about it just made it all the more funny to me. I let slip some things here and there, but I guess he or dave didn't pick up on it. I was expecting someone to hit me when they found out =X
