Mythbusters tried to do something like that on a previous show.  They didn't get clearance to use a full size jet plane and they used portable jet engines, and they weren't able to reproduce that.  Fun to watch though.
Never, but never question the engineers judgement.

Topgear is the name of the show that did this.

It is possibly one of the greatest tv shows ever, even though we don't get it stateside.

I will have all of the 8th season on my DC share at the lan, check it out

They also tried the Myth of snowplows that pass by small cars; that the snowplow will blow the small car over. It was proved that it was not possible, they even used a Suzuki Samarai and it still didn't blow over.

Yeah but they were trying it with air not snow.  If they were to use snow it would blow the car off the road without a problem.
