Title: New system, super overclockable :snicker:
Post by: zx2slow on May 25, 2006, 04:41:23 PM
I just picked up a most of new system, my old rig was having some stability issues.  This thing should be a frickin' monster, Im watercooling it as well so I should see some insane overclocks.  Anyhoo on with the specs:

CPU: Opteron 146*
MB : Asus A8N32
Mem: G.Skill 2Gb DDR500
Video: Two 7600GT's in SLi
DVD: NEC3550A
HD: Two WD 250GB SE16 Raid0

*(The awsome CAB2E stepping it will oc to 3ghz on air and close to stock volts and has the same core as the FX series CPU's!!!)

I am getting OCZ 700w psu, Modem (USR makes a x64 compatible one), and a new case.

I dont know what case to buy I want one that has the divider between the top and bottom like the higher end lian-li cases but dont want to shell out $350.

I cant wait to crank this thing up to 3ghz, I really dont want to push volts higher than 1.50v (Stock is 1.35v), the cab2e stepping is sorta inconsistant but I've seen 3ghz+ on 1.45v.

I had a venice 3000+ before that was limited by my stupid gigabyte motherbaord, I was running a 25% overclock on stock volts.  I think it could of hit 2.8Ghz or better on a diffrent motherboard.  The asus A8N32 is slightly better than the DFI lanparty and has 16x/16x SLi pci-e speeds.   This thing is built to overclock :)
